Thakazhi Sivasankara Pillai

Thakazhi Sivasankara Pillai (1912–1999) wrote about the lives of farmers, fishermen and labourers of Kuttanad and coastal Kerala. His novel Chemmeen (1956) is a classic of Indian literature. He received the Jnanpith Award in 1984.
